SSI Function Generator

Park Signalling's SSI Function Generator is a PC-based enhanced message generator, whose telegrams can be changed without needing to reset.

The SSI Function Generator (SFG) consists of a SSI function generator adaptor and PC running control software. The SFG provides a means to generate command telegrams in the same format as a SSI trackside data link. It also allows the user to create and run a sequence of telegrams, with embedded delays, to simulate the output from an interlocking.

The SFG displays data and status bits for all command telegrams and the interlocking system ID. Changes can be made by selecting the required bit field (using a mouse or touchscreen). A window will open allowing the new bit pattern to be entered and on closing this window the changes will be implemented immediately. When a telegram is changed it will be highlighted momentarily.

The Script facility allows a sequence of changes to be recorded and then run in real-time. If 'repeat from start' is selected during recording then the sequence will be repeated ad infinitum.

Connections

The laptop PC can be powered by its internal battery or from a domestic mains supply. No other power supply is required.

The SFG output is via a BNC socket.

As the SFG is laboratory test equipment only, it must not be connected to the railway signalling infrastructure.
